Introducing our 'Sailboat Red'

Hello hello i thought i would show you a lil more of our latest 'Sailboat Red' Kepp Jones hat over here! 

Originally i had a different colour scheme planned but as the stitching went on, things changed + i'm over the moon with how she turned out! So nautically gorgeous!! Disappointed with myself for not making an extra medium for moi!! 

But let me tell you a lil more about 'Sailboat Red' + where she derived from :: 

Ezra was a man of the water + therefore dressed accordingly when he boarded his yacht! White trousers, boat shoes + a sweater around his neck were his staples...yes he was definitely the dapper chap! 

This Nautical inspired number, was made mostly from Ezra's trouser - which lean toward the cooler shade of white ... but has the most delectable red brim (underside too) + flap. A rare vintage fabric handcrafted button in the most gorgeous washed out red adorned with chaps riding bikes + florals(oddly fantabulous!). 'Sailboat Red' is a splendid lil accessory that can be worn with Nautical stripes, a summery skirt or high waisted denim shorts, any which way.... this lil cap i'm sure will turn some noggins!!

And yes i have been taking photo's of a different noggin + her name is Jenny! She is a friend, quite the talented abstract painter + lets not forget...a natural beauty! So i thought it might be a great idea to show Sparky wares on someone who doesn't have long, dark curly hair + as it turned out...it was actually really fun not to take photos of my own head...so there could be some more Sparky models to come! 

 ps:: the last photo i decided to name 'Just Jenny' as well...its simply just her!

Hello hello, happy mondaying!
Well i have started to add a some delicious Sparky Jones nogginware to the shoppe!  I wanted to revise the pattern for a while now,  as some things were starting to annoy me greatly ~ so after a bit of tinkering... i'm totally smitten!

Now the prices of Sparky Jones hats have increased, yes that is correct! Each hat style will be increasing by $25 due the fact that i have crunched a lot of numbers over the past while and taking into account the pricing dilemma + well to be honest...things hadn't been  adding up very well!

But with that being said, Sparky Jones hats are 150% unique accessories that have been lovingly designed by moi + handcrafted(pre washed, deconstructed + thoughtfully reconstructed) from vintage and preloved goodness....+ with the added bonus of being built to be your longtime best friend  (fast fashion need not apply ::giggle!).

Meet Delia Jones.

Another of the new characters i have been working on!!

So i'd like you to meet miss Delia Jones! She is a set of 3 delicious button brooches that have been individually hand covered in the finest of fine vintage fabrics. This season of Delia - i have to say is exquisitely fantabulous :: from buoyant to classy, ol faithful to festive... she really is the perfect lil way to spruce up for any occasion or outfit!

 

She has antique brass brooch backs, + can be pinned into many different arrangements, depending on your attire + your mood - vertical, horizontal, cluster...oh lala the possibilities are endless! (But we'll get into that another day!)

 

For today, i wanted to share a closer look at 'Polka Dottie' She is deep luscious red (my fav colour - wink) with these amazing tiny white bobbly polkadots. I have an absolute thing for polkadots + just as well, they never seem to go out of fashion.... timeless beauty some/i would say.

 

 Anyways over the next few days, i'll be sharing more up close + personals on some of the other Delia Jones , but here's what the F/W 2013 line up looks like ::

I truely believe that all things created (even us strange creatures) should be as wonderful on the inside as the outside!!

 

So using my trusty 'daydreaming of many pocket' ways, my sketchbook + my ever so loved brown Sakura pen.....i really put my mind to creating the ever so important interior!. Inspired heavily by concepts of Scandinavian design, much care and attention was paid to his utilitarian beauty - and by using something so pure + bright, brings out all that vivid vintage goodness...thus making me completely giddy! Mission accomplished!

 

Humphred's vitals::

One large magazine pocket, a smaller pocket for notebooks, a slender pocket for pens n' pencils + lastly...a nifty zippered pocket to secure any of your safe keepings. All made from a delicious thick natural cotton canvas.

 

By the way all trimmings + handmade bias binding... were handcrafted from a luscious red vintage tablecloth - oh lala.

 

NB:: it has recently come to my attention how many people have a love/obsession for a good quality brown pen! Like, i'm the kind of person that always has a few in stock, just incase of a crisis!

I came across the dreamy blog little brown pen a while back too (its changed names now...but tis still dreamy!)

 

Anyways i'm trying to put a few more things on the shelves at the SJA boutique...so best get busying

Hello hello...yes i'm still here!

So so very much has been going on, our tiny house has been oldly chaotic with sickness, lil people busy-ness + a whole handful of other things thrown in, and it has been a touch stressful to say the least.  However, in the businessing world, i have managed to show at a  couple of Christmas market fairs + have 1 or 2 more coming up.... and also squeezed in a really fun photoshoot under freezing conditions!(with 2 amazingly talented peeps + some good hair!)  and finally, yes finally.... i am  tackling..... opening the SJA Etsy shoppe! HooooRay!! Quite a bit has changed since i was there last, so its taking a lil longer than expected!! (bare with me folks!)

Anyways... i'm utterly excited as today ::  i'm introducing a brand spanking new SJA character to the to our accessory range!!  He has been playing on my mind for a long time now, and after making several prototypes i'm happy + ready to show him to the world!!

Humphred was designed to be a carrier of library books, national geographics, a computering device + more, for those lovers of learning, smart cookies n' brainy broads! He was inspired by the retro carriers of the yester years, but with a Scandinavian twist...simple, deliciously vibrant yet over the top functional.
