This Weekending.

Well this weekending, was kinda eventful in a non eventful way.  We really seemed to have a lot on the go, but every time we needed to go out…Baby Bea decided that she desperately needed a nap!  She was a complete Sleeping Beauty! Sweet but very inconvenient ::giggle!.

First up… we were house hunting!….which used to be fun…. but has now turned into a never ending task.  We're not too picky, but finding an appropriate sized house with all the bedrooms somewhat near each other seems to be non- existent around these parts.  We seem to be needing a touch more space, as our little family, sewing areas, doggies and guests from afar, seem to be a bit much for these tiny walls we call our home. 

And it just so happened we had some travelling peeps from Australia coming our way on saturday!

 Yes'm, in this tiny world we live in, my sista's friends from Perth, Australia had some work for a few weeks, in the next town away, so naturally... not really knowing them, but having some long lost connection, we thought ' hey let's catch up!!'  It was a complete vacationy treat for all of us i think, we wined + dined at the Poplar Grove Winery restaurant 'The Vanilla Pod'.   Delicious eats + great chats in Australian accents…loved every minute! 

Sunday brought us a visit with Santa!  It was our first real outting to a complete nutso kiddyfest event…there was  blow up thingys, plastic toys on mass, eats, a Santa + pressies.  Bea was loving it, but as predicted…there were tears on Santa's lap!

So in between the housing, scrumptious food + the santa gymboree,  i managed to do a bit of sewing!  Sparky Jones is going to be at Christmas show  at Bottega farm inn + Studio this weekend coming…so i have a bit of fine tuning to do before then...

Weekending.

The Mr is away at the moment, so Bea + i try our hardest to have a lil fun in between all that responsible boring stuff that has to get done. On saturday we headed out to Summerland to the Jingle + Mingle market, the cute lil I.O.O.F hall on Main St, was filled with inspiring Momma's in business, so there was quite the hustle + bustle  going on amongst the local banter + homemade chilli.
Around the corner is the very special Summerland thrift shop ~ it opens from 1 - 4pm and there is always a line of folks waiting for the 'open' sign to be flipped, so in we piled at 1:01...and i scored this sweet peachy japanesey fabric - not sure what its destined for yet, but it was too kitschy to pass up!

Sunday...well it was a balmy 0'c, but beautifully sunny (its been doomy, gloomy + in those awful minus digits), so out came the garden rake.....and i finally got to that Fall clean up, now that its November!  Was kinda of nice to be away from the computer + in the fresh air, especially as these sunny days won't be around for much longer.  I'm trying to work on my fa-doob-ba-dahs too (that flappy bit of old lady skin that now hangs from my upper arm..where muscle once lived!) and raking + sweeping are the best + cheapest workout for that lil dilema.

On the last happy note...my lil babe was lying in her crib, looked up at me + said 'Mum'...she has been saying her form of the word for a while now, but this was the real deal...and yep it was in Australian!  Those little creatures sure can melt you in a flash + its only the beginning!  Since then she has said a different word everyday....makes one realize what words you use often! 'Whoa' was next in line :: giggle!

Creatin' the good stuff

I LOVE, love love CREATING!! Give me a coffee, a bit of quiet time + some scrumptious supplies...and i'm the happiest girl around. This month is all about the products, so i wanted to spend time really fine tuning, as over the last... well year, i've been mentally working on my products. Now that I have done most of the things that I used to dread(yippy) like organization + numbers...its 'treat yourself time'...yep, some well earned creative time!!

 

So one of the things on my 'get creating' list was to catch up with Darlene of 'Button Crazy', to get some top notch notions for my secret new products.   I had met her through the Fabulous Finds Shows (which I just received news that the Sparky Jones application as a stall holder...was accepted! ~ happily freaking out now!), anyways I knew that she was pretty stocked up with important things I needed..... so I packed up the whole family (Mumma, Pappa, the Mr and the babe) and we took a mini road trip to Vernon to get some much needed gorgeous supplies!  Luckily I have my new businessing lil traveller report card to jot down how much road we travelled :: wink wink!

 

I was definitely not disappointed, she had walls of vintage goodness(in the most fantabulous lil boxes that I really wanted to keep), cabinents of all sorts of wonderfully colourful notions, Mumma and I were definitely drooling with excitment and wanting.....everything! 

I'm really hoping to post some snippets of what I have been working on soon !

 

Sunday drive

Its been so so hot, so our Sunday Drive (which we decided to do on Saturday!) had to include water.  So we headed to a beach/lake just outta town - ended up being the perfect place, not too many peeps, shady trees, and grass to set up shop ( I love sand in my toes, but little people, eating + sand don't go together so well).  What was also pretty spectacular was the ocean of water lilies on part of the waters edge ~ perfect for foolin around with my camera. Infact a bride + her entourage showed up to take their wedding photos in a row boat amongst the lilies....so thought it would be best to put the camera away, as I didn't want to come across as a random crazy stalker. 

Anyways was a special day for us, as our lil baby Bea turned 9 months old, so really she is double her age, if that makes sense.  Funny how the 9 months in your belly  seems to take forever.  Well I have to say she is a pretty good little friend to have ~ she is a crazy talker + dancer, but quiet in a crowd, loves to eat anything/everything + is completely obcessed with her tongue, think we'll keep this one :: giggle.
